EZ RV Upgrades

Endorsed by KOA and National Interstate RV Insurance

By: Mark Polk
Our goal with this video was to highlight products that truly benefit the RVer, protect you and your investment, and make RV ownership easier.

We wanted to include a segment in the video for the Do-It-Yourselfer, so five of the products in the video demonstrate actual hands on, step-by-step installation procedures. I felt that many RVers, like me, enjoy doing some of the work on their RV themselves. If you prefer not to do the installation you can have any reputable RV dealer install them and still benefit from the products.

We started the video by demonstrating how easy it is to install a Carefree of Colorado full view window awning. The benefits of window awnings are endless. Then to increase the ventilation in the RV we demonstrated the installation of a Maxx Air louvered window vent and a Maxx Air turbo fan. They are both easy to install with a few basic hand tools. Our next product installation was a Valterra thermostatically controlled refrigerator vent fan that is designed to increase the efficiency of your RV refrigerator. Then we discussed the Valterra battery operated fridge mate fan that goes inside the refrigerator to increase the airflow and efficiency of the refrigerator. Last but not least we replaced a standard light fixture with a Sunray tube saver fluorescent light. It improves the lighting in your RV, and their patented ballast design makes the tubes last four times longer then other fluorescent lights.

With the installation segment completed we wanted to demonstrate some other products that we felt every RVer can use and benefit from. We started with a 3-in-1 digital plug in tester called the Good Governor. It monitors campground voltage, generator frequency output and it tests polarity. If used properly it can protect thousands of dollars worth of appliances and electronic equipment in your RV.

The next product is another must have to protect you. We highlighted the complete line of Hydrolife water filters and replacement cartridges. Water filtration is extremely important to protect you from the harmful affects of bacteria and other dangerous contaminants in your drinking water.

Our next product makes a job that nobody likes to do much easier to deal with. It’s called the Flush King. It’s a reverse RV flush valve that’s used to dump, rinse and clean your RV holding tanks in one simple operation. I always used a wand to clean the black water tank, but never really knew how clean it was. With the Flush King you know when the holding tanks are clean and it not only cleans the black tank, but the gray tank too.

Next we demonstrated Thumb Lock grips and Versaties by Fastening Solutions. These inexpensive and easy to use fasteners will protect expensive items like TVs and personal computers from falling and getting damaged while traveling.

The next couple of products are by Roadmaster Inc. I included them because they solve some problems that I constantly encounter. The first one is a hitch accessory called the roller hitch. It fits in all 2-inch receivers and eliminates the back end of my motor home from scraping the ground when you go from a flat surface to an incline. The second product is called the Roadwing. It’s a removable mud flap system that installs on your tow vehicle or motor home in a couple of minutes and protects what ever you’re towing from damage caused by rocks, gravel and road debris. When you’re not towing you simply remove it.

The last product is another one that every RV should have. Lynx levelers and their all-new Stop & Chock. This is the only leveling system you’ll ever need. They have multiple uses, their inexpensive, safe, and easy to use.

"Mark, I have several of your videos and they are great. So far, I have used most of the items you show in the EZ RV Upgrade video. Just before I received your video I was just about to have my dealer install two window awnings. After watching you I did the job myself and it worked just the way you said and saved me much money. And, most of the items I would have never tried to do before the videos. Thanks, Cougar by Keystone owner, Bob Jacobs
